The Juvenile

Strange things happen during our teenage years and notice we become awkward and confused. The same goes for birds. As a chick, they’re soft, fluffy, adorable, and perfect for those Easter greeting cards. As adults they’re vibrant, have elegant silhouettes, and take to the skies. This scruffy juvenile Oyster Catcher, still unable to fly, scurries around the beach in anticipation for the food it’s parents might bring back. It’s truly a tough age to fit in.
